If everyone else jumped off a cliff, would I? I guess so, because here I am. Just blogging right along. I've recently started reading some blogs I find to be really fun and interesting. Whether it be a cooking blog, a decorating blog or a friend's blog about their life, it's very entertaining to say the least. So, Here I Am.....
As many of you may already know, we've been really busy renovating our soon-to-be new home. Just a little history on the house for all of those interested in that sort of thing. It was built in 1862. Yes, 150 years old. That's not a typo. Yes, we're probably crazy. No, we are crazy. It's the old homeplace of some very close family friends of my dad's. I knew the family my whole life. From the time I was a little girl, I have always wanted to live in this house. As cliche as it may sound, it really is a dream come true. It's part of the reason we moved back to North Carolina from California. Anyway, it's been time consuming to say the very least. Fortunately, I can see a faint little light at the end of construction tunnel. Here's some before/after pics..please, take note that there's till lots of decorating/organizing to do, but you'll get the "structural" changes from these shots. I haven't had a chance to get pics from the bedrooms...more pics to follow! You can see, we've been pretty busy.

(AFTER) Dining Room..still lots of unpacking/decorating to do!
(AFTER) Living Room
(AFTER) The Laundry Room. I will I had a before shot. The old room was outside!
You literally had to walk out the back door to get to it...hideous!!
(AFTER) Mudroom
That old breezeway off the kitchen that took you to the outdoor
laundry room was enclosed and coverted to a mudroom. LOVE!
(AFTER) Mudroom..lots of storage for coats/shoes!
(AFTER) Downstairs Bathroom..don't have a before pic, but it was pretty terrible.
5 layers of wallpaper dating back to the 50's and lots of chrome fixtures. Don't forget the
beautiful linoleum floor we peeled up. YUCK!
(AFTER) Den off of Kitchen. We painted all of the dark wood paneling
antique white, but left the beams original. We love the bookshelves!
